FAQ

  • Who is this course for?

This course is perfect if: 1) You have tried other quick fix diets and were dissatisfied with the results. 2) You are ready to put in the work to achieve the health that you want. 3) You suspect certain foods have a negative effect on your body. 4) You would like guidance identifying a dietary plan for your personal needs.

  • What is an elimination diet?

It is a process of removing specific foods that are most likely to trigger inflammation and unwanted health problems. During a defined period of time, you focus instead on eating the highest quality anti-inflammatory whole foods. The avoided foods are reintroduced systematically to help you identify which foods may be problematic. In functional medicine, the elimination diet is the gold standard for discovering the foods that don’t agree with you as well as the foods that make you feel your best. The information you learn from an elimination diet allows you to create a sustainable food-as-medicine plan for your life.

  • How does this course work?

This course provides 43 self-paced lessons to prepare and support you through an elimination diet. The course includes sample meal plans, website links and documents to give you comprehensive support. Twice a year (January and September), the course will also include virtual meetings and daily facebook support with Dr. Leazenby. These small group classes and daily check-ins give you opportunity to ask questions, have accountability and use Dr. Leazenby's expertise to further tailor the elimination diet to your needs. (Cost of the self-paced course: $69.99; Cost of the physician-guided course in January and September: $219.99)

  • How long is this course available?

Once purchased, you will have lifelong access to the course content. The month-long facebook group and live (unrecorded) zoom classes are only available once per purchase.

  • Is an elimination diet for everyone?

This elimination diet focuses on eating real food and does not restrict calories. For this reason a short-term elimination diet can be completed safely by most people. However, this plan is not recommended for anyone with a history of eating disorders. If you have been treated for an eating disorder, do not start the program without input from your healthcare provider.
